  1. Thanks for your providing such detailed information.
I am interested in starting with the HHA training but would like to work with children. I have been a nanny and school teacher so it gives me that special interest.
Is there an agency that offers this or can you please give me some advice?
    Thanks,
    Teresa

    • Hi Teresa –
Thanks for your question! All free home health aide training programs in New York are required to teach the same curriculum (you can get an idea of what will be covered here), and with the quick turnaround time from training to employment, you are unlikely to find a program that will spend additional time in initial training that emphasizes caring for children specifically. As you research programs, consider discussing your desire to work with children with the program recruiters to see how many younger patients their agency provides care for – this will give you an idea of how likely you would be to work directly with their younger patients and what qualifications, if any, would be required. Best of luck!
